A workshop on "Evaluating SDGs in Equity and Gender Lens and development of a National Evaluation Agenda for Nepal" was held in Kathmandu from 21-23 August 2016.

The workshop was inaugurated by the Right Hon. Onsari Gharti, Speaker of the Legislative Parliament, in presence of 13 other parliamentarians including the Chair- Good Governance and Monitoring Committee of the Parliament, Chief Whips of the political parties, other political party leaders, government officials, evaluation community, United Nations, academia and civil society. 


Dr. Dorothy Lucks, IOCE - Secretary, EvalPartners Executive Committee member and Co-chair EVALSDGs, was the key resource person on SDGs and Evaluation Agenda. Dr. Teertha Dhakal, Joint Secretary and Chief of M&E Division - National Planning Commission of Nepal presented the status of efforts on promoting evaluation culture by the government. By end of the workshop, the draft National Evaluation Agenda was prepared with contribution of all participants. It will be compiled and shared with stakeholders by the working committee.

The workshop was conducted under the project supported by the EvalGender+ network. Under the same project, the draft National Evaluation Policy Act is being reviewed to include equity focused and gender responsive evaluation and Code of Conduct for EFGR evaluation is being developed. EFGR evaluation methodologies used in Nepal are also compiled in addition to development of an online resource center.
